Equipment info

The Keysight E1340A Arbitrary Function Generator is a B-size, 1-slot VXI module designed to generate arbitrary and standard waveforms with 12-bit resolution and 42 MSa/s sampling capability. It delivers sine waves to 15 MHz, square/ramp/triangle outputs to 1 MHz, and supports modulation via Frequency Shift Keying at rates up to 3 kHz. The instrument provides maximum output amplitude of 10.2 Vp-p into 50 Ω with an offset range of ±5.11 V, exceptional sine flatness of 0.2 dB to 10 MHz, and total harmonic distortion of –60 dB (1 Hz to 100 kHz). Arbitrary waveform memory of 16 kSa is segmentable into 4, 8, or 16 kSa blocks with four waveforms active simultaneously. Frequency sweep spans 0.01 Hz to 15 MHz at rates from 0.4 Hz/s to 2.6 MHz/s. Burst output mode supports 1 to 65,534 cycles or continuous operation. The 42.9 MHz timebase offers 50 ppm accuracy with external reference capability. Square wave rise time is 25 ns typical with jitter of 24 ns. Dual attenuator stages provide 11-bit fine resolution plus 0 or 20 dB coarse switching. Register-based VXI architecture supports I-SCPI and C-SCPI drivers across Windows 3.1, Series 700, and LynxOS platforms with downloadable command module firmware. Output impedance is 50 Ω ± 1%.
