This slave-only adapter is restricted to non-Slot 0 operation and cannot support bus masters, making it ideal for expanding mainframe capacity with smaller form-factor instrumentation. Multiple units can be deployed within a single C-size mainframe. The standard configuration accommodates 1-slot-wide modules; Option 801 variant supports dual-wide B-size VXI cards connected to the leftmost slot backplane.
