The Marconi IFR Aeroflex 3025C is a 6.00 GHz digital RF signal generator module for PXI-based test systems. This modular instrument delivers precise signal generation across 86 MHz to 6 GHz with 1 Hz resolution below 3 GHz and 2 Hz resolution above 3 GHz. Output power ranges from –120 dBm to +6 dBm (≤3 GHz) and –120 dBm to +1 dBm (>3 GHz) with ±0.3 dB typical accuracy. The module integrates dual-channel arbitrary waveform generation with up to 128 Msamples storage (expandable to 0.5 Gsamples with Option 04), supporting AM, FM, analog, digital, and IQ vector modulation modes with 90 MHz modulation bandwidth. Phase noise performance reaches –116 dBc/Hz at 20 kHz offset (2 GHz) and –108 dBc/Hz (5 GHz). Fast frequency switching via list mode achieves 250 µs settling time. External digital IQ modulation is supported through LVDS front panel and VHDCI data interfaces for 14-bit IQ streaming and control signals. The PXI backplane integration enables trigger synchronization and seamless multi-module system architectures for aerospace, defense, and telecommunications test environments.
