The Measurement Computing/IOtech Digital488 is a digital I/O interface that bridges IEEE 488 (GPIB) bus systems to digital devices through programmable input/output lines, handshake capabilities, and control signals. It integrates digital equipment into data acquisition and control systems with flexible port configuration, multiple data formats, and TTL-level logic compatibility. The Digital488 series supports 40-bit standard configurations, 32-bit, and 80-bit variants—each with software-selectable port direction, data latching, and programmable handshake control.

• 40 TTL-level digital I/O lines (standard configuration)
• 32-bit (Digital488/32/OEM) and 80-bit (Digital488/80A) configurations available
• I/O lines organized into 8-bit ports, each software programmable as input or output

• Optional HVCX1 module supports 12 V, 24 V, and 48 V logic levels
• High-current outputs via HVCX1: up to 200 mA per output at 50 VDC maximum; 8 A total sinking capacity (80-bit models)

• Fully compatible with IEEE 488 (GPIB, HP-IB) bus controllers
• Digital488HS/32 model: up to 1 Mbyte/s (8-bit data) and 500 K words/s (16-bit data)
• Supports multiple data formats: ASCII hexadecimal, ASCII character, ASCII binary, binary, high-speed binary, and ASCII decimal
• Programmable IEEE 488 terminators, EOI, and SRQ masking

Control and Handshake

• Programmable handshake lines for synchronized data transfer
• Dedicated trigger and clear output signals
• SRQ (Service Request) input for controller signaling
• Data Strobe, External Data Ready, and Inhibit control lines
• On-board LEDs for IEEE 488 bus status monitoring (TALK, LISTEN, SRQ, ERROR, POWER)
