The Measurement Computing PCI-DUAL-AC5 is a 48-bit digital I/O module for PCI bus systems delivering high-output control and monitoring capabilities. The board organizes 48 channels into two 24-bit groups, each comprising three 8-bit ports configurable individually as input or output. Based on 82C55 mode 0 emulation, it serves as a direct interface for SSR-PB24 solid-state relay racks or as a standalone general-purpose digital I/O card.
Technical Specifications
Digital Output: 74S244 driver ICs rated for 64 mA sink current and 15 mA source current per channel. Output high voltage reaches 2.4 V minimum at -15 mA; output low voltage holds 0.5 V maximum at 64 mA.
Digital Input: 74LS373 buffer ICs accept input high voltage of 2.0 V minimum and input low voltage of 0.8 V maximum. Absolute maximum input voltage range: -0.5 V to +7 V.
Power: +5 V operation draws 1.13 A typical, 1.80 A maximum.
Physical: 174.8 mm × 106.7 mm × 21.6 mm (6.88″ × 4.2″ × 0.85″). 100-pin high-density connector mounted on PCI expansion bracket.
Environmental: Operating temperature 0 °C to 70 °C; storage temperature -40 °C to 100 °C; humidity 0% to 90% non-condensing.
– Key Features
• All I/O bits default to input mode (high impedance) on power-up and reset
• Fully plug-and-play installation—no jumpers or DIP switches required
• BIOS and software configure board addresses and interrupt sources automatically
• Each port individually programmable as input or output
• PORTC splittable into 4-bit nibbles for flexible channel grouping
• Open locations provided for installing SIP resistor networks (pull-up/pull-down)
• Supports up to two SSR-PB24 relay racks per card
– Typical Applications
Industrial automation, process control, equipment monitoring, solid-state relay switching, and general-purpose digital I/O expansion in PCI-based systems.
– Compatibility & Integration
100-pin connector accepts C100FE-x and C100FF-x cable series. Compatible with SSR-PB24 relay racks (via C100FE-x), CIO-MINI50, CIO-SPADE50, CIO-TERM100, and SCB-50 breakout products. Requires MCC DAQ software (InstaCal utility) on Windows platforms.
