Equipment info

The National Instruments PCIe-6351 is a high-performance X Series multifunction data acquisition card engineered for demanding measurement and control applications. This PCIe-based device delivers 1.25 MS/s single-channel sampling on 16 analog inputs (8 differential) with 16-bit resolution, plus dual 16-bit analog outputs and 24 digital I/O lines. Advanced onboard NI-STC3 timing technology provides independent analog and digital engines with retriggerable measurement tasks, analog and digital triggering, and four 32-bit counters running at 100 MHz for PWM, encoder, and frequency applications.

Technical Specifications

Analog Input: 16 single-ended or 8 differential channels; 16-bit resolution; 1.25 MS/s single-channel maximum, 1.00 MS/s aggregate multichannel rate; ±0.1 V to ±10 V input ranges; >10 GΩ || 100 pF input impedance; 100 dB CMRR (DC to 60 Hz); 1.7 MHz small-signal bandwidth (-3 dB); 2,047-sample input FIFO; settling time 1–1.5 µs depending on range; ±11 V maximum working voltage.

Analog Output: 2 channels; 16-bit resolution; 2.86 MS/s update rate; ±10 V and ±5 V ranges; 0.2 Ω output impedance; ±5 mA output drive; ±25 V overdrive protection.

Digital I/O: 24 lines at maximum 10 MHz rate.

Counters/Timers: Four 32-bit channels; 100 MHz timebase; PWM, encoder (non-quadrature, 1X/2X/4X quadrature), frequency, and event counting; one frequency generator with 20 MHz, 10 MHz, and 100 kHz base clocks.

Triggers: Analog and digital; external digital via PFI or RSTI; analog sources include AI and APFI 0; functions: start, reference, pause, sample clock, convert clock, and sample clock timebase.

Interface: PCI Express; single 68-pin VHDCI connector; NI-DAQmx driver; onboard PLL; meets EMC standards.
