The National Instruments GPIB-232CV-A is an IEEE 488 converter that bridges GPIB (General Purpose Interface Bus) devices and RS-232 serial interfaces. It enables protocol conversion between faster GPIB networks and slower serial devices through an 8-bit microcomputer, integrated DMA controller, and 256 KB RAM buffer. This isolation architecture prevents communication bottlenecks in automated test systems, data acquisition setups, and instrument control applications.
