It delivers adjustable output current from 0.625 A to 5 A RMS (7.1 A peak) across a 24–75 VDC input range, supporting step rates up to 2 MHz with filter disabled or 500 kHz enabled. The driver employs a patented 4-phase Bipolar Chopper Drive operating at 20 kHz nominal frequency, combining recirculating and non-recirculating power regulation for superior current control and minimal ripple. Microstepping resolution is field-configurable via DIP switches to 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/16, 1/32, 1/64, 1/128, or 1/256 steps, enabling up to 51,200 steps per revolution on standard 200-step-per-revolution motors. Digital Electronic Damping Control eliminates mid-speed instability and prevents motor stalling. Idle Current Reduction automatically drops winding current by up to 50% during dwell periods (default 0.1 seconds; selectable 0.05 or 1.0 second timeouts), reducing heating and system power draw. The optically isolated signal interface provides noise rejection via integrated step filtering and enable sense reversal capability. Designed for Pacific Scientific hybrid stepper motors and compatible with most industry-standard 2-phase stepper motors.
