The Sorensen SRL40-50 is a 2000 W DC power supply engineered for laboratory and industrial applications demanding stable, programmable output. It delivers 0–40 Vdc at 0–50 Adc with continuously adjustable voltage and current, employing SCR preregulation and linear series pass circuitry. The unit operates in constant voltage or constant current modes with automatic crossover and front-panel status indication. Voltage regulation holds 0.01% of setting + 2 mV across line and load variations. Current regulation maintains 0.02% of setting + 6 mA. Output ripple measures 200–700 µVrms. Transient response returns to within ±10 mV bandwidth in 150 µs typical following a 0–100% load step. Stability is 0.03% + 10 mA over 8 hours after a 30-minute warm-up.
Remote programming supports both resistance and voltage inputs for voltage and current control. Over-voltage protection is adjustable from the front panel and functional without load or AC power. Remote sensing compensates for load-lead voltage drop up to 1 V. Up to three units parallel in master-slave or straight parallel configuration at 90% output current derating per unit.
The SRL40-50 accepts 190–230 Vac single-phase input at 47–63 Hz without derating. Fan cooling handles the 2000 W thermal load. Mounting options include benchtop or rack configurations. All operational controls occupy the front panel; rear terminals accommodate mode selection, remote sensing, and parallel operation wiring. Operating temperature range is 0 to +70 °C; storage rated to -40 to +85 °C.
