Equipment info

The Spanawave/Giga-tronics/Ascor 3000-4801 is a 48-channel opto-isolated CMOS I/O module engineered for industrial automation, process control, and data acquisition systems. This C-size VXI module delivers 48 optically isolated, bidirectional I/O lines organized as six 8-bit bytes, each independently configurable under program control. The module supports TTL and CMOS signal levels with selectable active-high or active-low polarity on input and output bytes. It provides AND, OR, and XOR masking on each byte, programmable tri-state control, and handshake support via DRD, DAK, RFD, and DAV control signals. Byte transfer sequencing is programmable, and interrupt modes are selectable on programming error or handshake events. The 74ABT16541 driver chip delivers output levels of 3.0 V (at −3 mA) or 2.0 V (at −32 mA). Data is programmed and returned as hexadecimal ASCII characters, or controlled individually by ‘H’ or ‘L’ commands. This module functions as a hardware and software compatible replacement for the Tektronix VX4801.
