The Tektronix 7623 is a 100 MHz analog storage mainframe oscilloscope introduced in 1972, with the enhanced 7623A model (1975) offering improved writing speed for laboratory and signal analysis work. This instrument combines multi-trace CRT display with selectable storage modes—bi-stable, variable persistence, fast bi-stable, fast variable persistence, and save—to capture and retain transient and repetitive signals. Three plug-in compartments accept any 7-series module, enabling configuration as a general-purpose oscilloscope, logic analyzer, spectrum analyzer, or sampling scope. The 13 cm monochrome CRT features an internal 8 × 10-division graticule with variable illumination. A 3.5 ns rise time and 5 ns/div minimum sweep rate support high-speed signal acquisition. External CRT readout access allows digital annotation and time-stamping of stored waveforms—a capability uncommon among oscilloscopes of its era.
