Tektronix MDO3104 1GHz Mixed Domain Oscilloscope

The Tektronix MDO3104 is a 1 GHz mixed-domain oscilloscope that unifies oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, logic analyzer, protocol analyzer, arbitrary function generator, and digital voltmeter into a single platform. Engineers and system integrators use it to debug complex electronic systems across time and frequency domains without switching instruments. The MDO3104 captures analog signals at up to 5 GS/s on 1–2 channels, delivers 10 Mpts record length across all 4 analog channels, and visualizes rare anomalies using Digital Phosphor technology with real-time color-intensity grading. FastAcq™ acquisition mode captures over 280,000 waveforms/sec to isolate intermittent faults, while MagniVu™ delivers 121.2 ps timing resolution for precise edge analysis. The integrated spectrum analyzer spans 9 kHz to 1 GHz standard (extendable to 3 GHz), offers resolution bandwidth from 20 Hz to 150 MHz, and achieves DANL down to –138 dBm/Hz in the 5 MHz–2 GHz band. Protocol analysis covers I2C, SPI, RS-232/422/485/UART, USB 2.0, CAN, LIN, FlexRay, MIL-STD-1553, and audio standards with packet-level triggering and decoding. Optional 16-channel logic analyzer provides 10 M record length and 121.2 ps timing resolution. The AFG generates up to 50 MHz waveforms including 13 predefined types. Modular architecture allows selective activation of spectrum analysis, logic, protocol, and function generation capabilities, scaling functionality with project requirements.
