The Tektronix OTS9010 is a 10 Gb/s optical test system mainframe designed for SONET/SDH testing and characterization of optical communication systems and components. Built around an Intel Coppermine 400 MHz processor running Windows 2000 SP1, the mainframe provides a Windows-based operator interface with 128 MB RAM and 9.3 GB HDD storage. The benchtop platform features a 800×600 TFT LC display, Mini-QWERTY keypad, integrated trackball, and eight free slots for interchangeable optical interface modules sold separately. The OTS9010 accommodates modular components including 10 Gb/s SONET/SDH transmitters and receivers (OTS91L1), OC-192/STM-64 transmitters (OTS91T2) and receivers (OTS91R2), and clock/trigger modules (OTS91C1). These modules enable fixed and pseudo-random test pattern generation, sub-rate and full-rate payload support, through-mode signal retransmission with alarm and error insertion, plus comprehensive SONET/SDH alarm and error generation at Section, Line, and Path levels (including Regenerator Section and Multiplex Section for SDH). System connectivity includes GPIB (IEEE 488.1-1987 compliant), Ethernet, SCSI, USB, and parallel printer support. The mainframe operates on 115 V AC or 230 V AC and includes CD-ROM and floppy disk drives. An optional rackmount kit is available for integrated installation environments. Tektronix OTS9000 Software v7.0 build 63 provides the control and measurement interface.
