The Thorlabs PRO8000-4 is an 8-slot modular rack chassis delivering up to 32 A total output current for precision control and measurement across demanding test applications. This 19″ rack-mountable mainframe accepts interchangeable PRO8 series modules—including laser diode controllers, temperature controllers, combination controllers, and photodiode measurement modules—with automatic module identification and menu-driven front-panel operation. The integrated TED8040 temperature controller provides ±4 A current regulation and 32 W maximum output power, supporting thermistor or IC sensors with adjustable PID settings for precise TEC stabilization.

PC-independent operation combines a 4 × 20 character vacuum-fluorescence display with IEEE 488.2 GPIB and RS-232C remote interfaces; LabVIEW and LabWindows/CVI drivers enable software integration. Forced-air cooling with automatic fan speed adjustment and comprehensive shielding—mains filter, transformer, and module shielding—suppress noise and ripple across the system.
