The Yokogawa AQ1200A is a compact handheld Optical Time Domain Reflectometer (OTDR) for field installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of single-mode fiber networks. Operating at 1310 nm and 1550 nm wavelengths, it delivers a dynamic range of 32 dB and 30 dB respectively, with exceptionally short event dead zone performance of ≤0.8 m. The instrument combines OTDR functionality with integrated light source and optical power meter capabilities, enabling comprehensive fiber characterization from 500 m to 200 km distance ranges with selectable pulse widths from 3 ns to 10 µs and sampling resolution down to 5 cm. Distance measurement accuracy is ±1 m plus 2×10⁻⁵ of measured distance, with loss measurement accuracy of ±0.05 dB under 1 dB conditions.
