Equipment info

The DEVICE MASTER CONTROL RTS 16-PORT is a 16-port device server that network-enables serial communications devices, extending COM and TTY ports across Ethernet networks and the internet. It integrates legacy serial equipment into modern network infrastructures without requiring device-side software modifications. The unit operates as a point-to-point serial tunnel using TCP or UDP socket connections, enabling data transfer between two units regardless of physical location. Software-selectable RS-232, RS-422, and RS-485 interfaces support native COM, TTY, or TCP/IP socket communication modes. Enhanced security includes SSL & SSH management and SSL serial data stream encryption.

Technical Specifications

Processor & Memory: ARM7 processor running at 44 MHz with 8 MB RAM and 4 MB Flash Memory.

Serial & Ethernet Interfaces: 16 serial ports with dual 10/100 Base-T Ethernet ports (10 and 100 Mbit/s data rates). Connection via RJ45.

Electrical: Device power requirements 9 to 30 VDC. Rackmount versions accept 90–264 V AC input with internal power supply and US/Euro cords. Surge protection rated at 15 kV.
