The NI IMAQ PCI-1422 is a PCI-based image acquisition module for capturing digital imagery from RS-422 cameras. It delivers sustained data transfer to PC memory at up to 100 MB/s and onboard acquisition rates reaching 80 MB/s, supported by 16 MB of SDRAM buffering. The module processes pixel data up to 16 bits per channel and accommodates two simultaneous 8-bit channels or a single 10-, 12-, 14-, or 16-bit channel. A 40 MHz pixel clock and dual clock outputs (500 kHz to 40 MHz) enable flexible camera synchronization. On-board lookup tables provide real-time image processing including contrast enhancement and data inversion. The 100-pin SCSI connector integrates camera control via RS-232 serial lines, four TTL/differential digital control lines, and four external TTL triggers with programmable polarity. RTSI bus connectivity allows hardware synchronization across multiple National Instruments DAQ and IMAQ devices. Industrial and scientific imaging applications benefit from sustained high-throughput acquisition and hardware-level triggering precision.
