The Racal Instruments 1260-40A is a VXIbus-compatible matrix switch module engineered for signal routing in high-performance test systems. This C-size module delivers 96 two-wire crosspoints configurable as a single 4×24 matrix, dual 4×12 matrices, or one 8×12 matrix. Non-latching guard relays automatically open upon power loss, protecting the Unit Under Test from signal leakage during power cycling. Relay coil current monitoring enables confidence checking of switch states through the message-based control interface.
