The Voltech PS1000 is a solid-state AC power switch engineered for precise inrush current measurement in AC loads. It controls the exact moment AC supply turn-on occurs—either at the zero-crossing or peak voltage point—enabling accurate characterization of transient behavior. A phase-locked loop maintains trigger point accuracy across supply frequencies from 40 Hz to 440 Hz. The unit connects directly into the load circuit via front-panel 4mm safety sockets and supplies a fully isolated trigger output (2V amplitude, 5µs pulse width) on a rear-panel BNC connector for synchronization with external instrumentation such as oscilloscopes. Self-powered from the AC supply it controls, the PS1000 handles peak inrush currents to 200A and operates across supply voltages of 80 V to 265 V rms. Electrical isolation of 2.5 kV rms protects front-panel terminals from the AC supply. The impact-resistant ABS case meets BS EN61010-1 Class II, Installation Category II, Pollution Degree 2 safety requirements.
