The Mitsubishi FR-A520-1.5K is a 1.5 kW (2 HP) transistorized inverter from the FREQROL FR-A500 series, engineered for precise motor speed and torque control in industrial drive applications. Built around an RISC processor, this unit delivers stable high-torque operation from ultra-low speeds through advanced magnetic flux vector control and on-line auto-tuning that compensates for motor temperature variations. Soft-PWM control architecture suppresses acoustic noise and limits RFI emissions, making it suitable for noise-sensitive environments. The drive accepts 3-phase 200–220 VAC input at 50 Hz or 3-phase 200–240 VAC at 60 Hz, delivering 3-phase output across a 0.2–400 Hz range for flexible speed control down to 0.5 Hz in driving mode. Rated output current is 8 A, with variable-torque overload capability to 9.6 A and constant-torque performance to 8 A at 120% load. External terminal control via STF/STR inputs enables forward/reverse operation, while analog frequency setting through potentiometer input and RS-485 communication provide flexible configuration options.
