The NRC Newport 4″×4″ Linear Stage Block is a precision positioning component that delivers accurate, smooth single-axis linear motion for optics, research, and industrial applications. Hardened balls rolling between polished stainless steel rods provide exceptional stability and repeatability with angular deviation under 200 µrad. The stage supports centered normal loads to 258 N (58 lbs) and vertical axial loads to 67 N (15 lbs), with travel up to 102 mm (4 inches). Two separate actuators—manual adjustment screws, vernier micrometers, or motorized units—drive the stage; selection depends on application requirements and desired control method.

– Key Features
• Preloaded ball-bearing design eliminates backlash while maintaining smooth translation
• Spring preload ensures consistent contact between balls and polished rods
• Symmetrical design permits left- or right-handed operation
• Low-profile form factor optimizes integration into compact systems
• Tapped mounting hole array supports direct integration and stacking
– Typical Applications
• Optical alignment and beam steering
• Laboratory instrumentation requiring precision XY or XYZ motion
• Industrial positioning and scanning systems
• Multi-axis stage assemblies via stacking configuration
– Compatibility & Integration
Two actuators (sold separately) are required. Compatible options include the AJS100-2 adjustment screw, SM-50 vernier micrometer, and LTA-HS motorized actuator. Stages stack directly for XY applications and accept angle brackets for XYZ configurations.
