The NI PXI-4498 is a 16-channel, 24-bit sound and vibration data acquisition module for high-channel count precision measurement applications. It delivers simultaneous sampling across all channels at rates up to 204.8 kS/s with 114 dB dynamic range and built-in antialiasing filters that automatically adjust to the configured sampling rate. The module provides software-selectable IEPE conditioning (0 mA or 4 mA), TEDS read/write support for smart sensor integration, and gain settings up to +30 dB. Input coupling is AC with a 0.5 Hz cutoff frequency, and four software-selectable input ranges (±0.316 V to ±10 V) accommodate diverse sensor outputs. External digital triggering accepts 5 V TTL/CMOS signals with selectable edge detection, and the module synchronizes to the PXI 10 MHz reference clock via onboard PLL circuitry. IEPE sensor diagnostics include open and short circuit detection. The hybrid-slot design operates in both PXI Express hybrid slots and standard PXI slots, using two 4X InfiniBand connectors for signal routing—each carrying eight analog input channels.
