The Rohde & Schwarz HM8118 is a benchtop LCR bridge/meter designed for precise measurement of passive component parameters across industrial, commercial, and laboratory environments. It delivers inductance, capacitance, and resistance measurements with ±0.05% basic accuracy for L and C, and ±0.1% for R. The instrument supports 14 distinct measurement modes—including L-Q, C-D, Z-Θ, and transformer characterization—with equivalent circuit analysis in both series and parallel configurations. Test frequencies span 20 Hz to 200 kHz in 69 discrete steps, with variable signal voltage from 0.10 Vrms to 1.50 Vrms. Programmable internal bias voltage (0 V to +5 V) and bias current (0 mA to 200 mA) enable component evaluation under real-world operating conditions. External capacitor bias reaches 40 V. Measurement speed reaches 12 readings per second.
